Lung transplantation for emphysema: only emphysema or something else?

Lung transplant recipients with emphysema more frequently showed significant additional histological findings, including interstitial lung disease (ILD), compared to surgically treated lung cancer patients with COPD. These findings were independent of tobacco use.
