Summary

Findings:

Accurate diagnosis of calcific tendinitis relies on appropriate imaging techniques.
Prompt diagnosis facilitates effective pain management and follow-up care.

Implications:

Emergency physicians must consider calcific tendinitis in the differential diagnosis of severe hip pain.
Recognizing this condition improves patient outcomes and reduces unnecessary investigations.
