Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a diagnostic procedure that combines endoscopy and fluoroscopy to diagnose and treat conditions related to the bile ducts, pancreatic ducts, and gallbladder. This procedure is beneficial for identifying and addressing blockages, gallstones, strictures, and tumors within the biliary or pancreatic systems. Summary

Selective biliary cannulation is challenging. A novel slim cholangioscope enabled successful cholangioscopy-guided cannulation, offering a potential solution for difficult cases.

Background:

Selective biliary cannulation is a critical yet challenging step in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
Difficult cannulation can lead to procedure failure and increased complications.

Purpose of the Study:

To report a successful cholangioscopy-guided biliary cannulation using a novel slim cholangioscope.
To evaluate the utility of this new device in difficult biliary cannulation scenarios.

Main Methods:

A case video demonstrating a novel slim cholangioscope with a 2.3-mm scope tip.
Cholangioscopy-guided cannulation technique was employed.

Main Results:

Successful selective biliary cannulation was achieved using the slim cholangioscope.
The novel device facilitated visualization and precise cannulation.

Conclusions:

Cholangioscopy-guided cannulation with this novel slim cholangioscope is a viable option.
This technique may improve success rates in patients with difficult biliary access during ERCP.
