Background:

Lipofibroadenoma (LFA) is a rare epithelial tumor typically found in the anterior mediastinum.
It is characterized by a coalescence of thymic epithelial, adipose, and fibrotic tissue.
Previously reported cases of thymic LFA have exclusively involved male patients.

Observation:

A 30-year-old female presented with an incidentally discovered left anterior superior mediastinal mass following a traffic accident.
Histologic examination of the surgically excised mass confirmed it as a lipofibroadenoma of the thymus.
The mass exhibited characteristic features of thymic parenchyma, including Hassall corpuscles, interspersed with fibro-adipose tissue.

Findings:

This case represents an extremely rare instance of thymic lipofibroadenoma in a female patient.
The tumor was a slow-growing, benign entity, consistent with known lipofibroadenoma characteristics.
Diagnosis was definitively established through histopathologic examination.

Implications:

The findings expand the known demographic profile of thymic lipofibroadenoma to include female patients.
Complete surgical excision (thymectomy) is the established treatment of choice for thymic lipofibroadenoma.
Accurate staging is crucial for determining the prognosis of thymic lipofibroadenoma.
