    Summary

    Surgical intervention for congenital vertical talus offers better outcomes than conservative casting. Early subtalar arthrodesis with K-wire fixation yielded the best results in this patient series.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy of surgical versus conservative management for congenital vertical talus.
    • To identify optimal surgical techniques and timing for improved outcomes.

    • Retrospective case series of 15 congenital vertical tali in 12 patients.
    • Comparison of conservative treatment (casting) with surgical interventions.
    • Surgical procedures involved one-stage release, anterior tibial tendon transfer, and Grice arthrodesis.
