Cowden syndrome, a PTEN gene disorder, is linked to a rare case of multifocal pulmonary carcinoid tumors. This finding suggests Cowden syndrome may predispose individuals to these neuroendocrine tumors, similar to Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 1.
