[Prognostic value of the initial remission during chemotherapy of patients with lymphosarcoma]

A study of the results of the first course of chemotherapy of 443 previously untreated patients with lymphosarcoma pointed to the predictive value of the extent and duration of the first remission, particularly in cases of blastic forms of lymphosarcoma. It was found that no significant increase in survival time can be obtained unless remission is complete. No significant difference in survival time was observed in cases of partial remission or ineffective primary therapy.
