Area of Science:

  • Oncology
  • Pathology
  • Urology

Background:

  • Primary bladder lymphoma is a rare non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, predominantly B-cell type.
  • B-cell lymphomas of the bladder are more common in women and often present with hematuria.

Observation:

  • This case presents an exceptionally rare primary bladder T-cell lymphoma.
  • A 50-year-old male was incidentally diagnosed via routine ultrasound, with no presenting symptoms like hematuria.
  • Imaging revealed a tumor on the anterior, right, and posterior bladder walls.

Findings:

  • Transurethral resection of the bladder lesion was performed.
  • Pathological examination confirmed the tumor was composed of lymphoid tissue.
  • The diagnosis was peripheral T-cell lymphoma, a non-Hodgkin subtype.

Implications:

  • Highlights the importance of considering rare lymphoma subtypes in bladder cancer diagnostics.
  • Underscores the potential for incidental diagnosis of bladder tumors.
  • Contributes to the understanding of T-cell lymphoma presentation and characteristics.
