Summary

Cochlear implants (CI) significantly improve speech understanding in noise for single-sided deafness (SSD) compared to unaided conditions. Contralateral routing of signals (CROS) and bone conduction devices (BCD) offer limited benefits, with CROS potentially hindering sound localization.
