  • Compassion Meditation (CM) shows promise for improving emotional well-being.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To assess the feasibility of a Compassion Meditation (CM) intervention for distressed older Veterans.
  • To evaluate intervention initiation, completion, and attendance rates.

Main Methods:

  • A preliminary feasibility study involving 25 Veterans aged 55+ with anxiety/depressive symptoms.
  • Intervention adapted from in-person to telehealth due to COVID-19.
  • Pre- and post-intervention measures of symptom severity and well-being.

Main Results:

  • 88% initiated the intervention; 52% completed it (attended ≥6 sessions).
  • Average attendance among completers was 9.46 sessions.
