Elevated serum tumor markers, including carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9), and cancer antigen 125 (CA125), are linked to worse survival in appendiceal adenocarcinoma patients. These markers should be part of the initial diagnostic workup.
