Background:

Family-centered interventions are increasingly recognized for their potential to improve health outcomes for both patients and family caregivers.
Existing literature lacks comprehensive reviews on the specific effectiveness of these interventions for family caregivers.

Approach:

A systematic review and meta-analysis adhering to PRISMA 2020 guidelines.
Searched seven English and two Chinese databases up to March 2023, with independent data extraction and risk of bias assessment.
Included 20 articles, employing the Cochrane 'Risk of bias assessment tool' for quality evaluation.

Meta-analysis revealed significant improvements in caregiver burden (p=0.003), quality of life (p=0.007), depression (p=0.0002), and stress (p<0.0001).
