This study found that certain gut bacteria, like Bacteroidales_S24-7 and Prevotellaceae, may increase schizophrenia risk. Conversely, Lachnospiraceae, Lactobacillaceae, and Verrucomicrobiaceae may reduce schizophrenia risk, suggesting gut microbiome regulation as a potential therapy.
