Abstract:
A pediatric oncology nurse, by strengthening her base from which to practice, can continue to work effectively with children who might die. This strengthening process involves developing a heightened awareness toward children's as well as her own thoughts about illness and death. It involves adapting cognitively, emotionally, and philosophically to working with children who may die.
