Nursing Implementation01:15

Nursing Implementation

5.0K
Implementation is the execution of the nursing care plan developed during the planning phase.
The five steps to implementing effective nursing care include reassessing the patient, reviewing and revising the existing nursing care plan, organizing the resources and care delivery, anticipating and preventing complications, and implementing nursing interventions.

Community Based Intervention01:30

Community Based Intervention

43
Community-based interventions in mental health represent a paradigm shift from institution-centered care to treatments embedded within the fabric of local communities. By prioritizing inclusion and leveraging existing societal structures, this approach fosters a supportive environment conducive to addressing mental health challenges while promoting individual dignity and agency.

Nursing Interventions II: Selecting and Classifying the Nursing Interventions

2.2K
Creating and executing a nursing diagnosis helps nurses plan care and guide patient, family, and community interventions. They are developed based on a patient's physical evaluation and support measuring the outcomes. It is not recommended to select random interventions throughout the planning process. Instead, consider the following six essential factors when choosing interventions:

Nursing Interventions I: Taxonomy of Nursing Interventions

2.6K
Nursing interventions are chosen as part of the planning process to achieve patient outcomes. Once nursing diagnoses are determined, the goals and outcomes are specified, then the nursing interventions are selected and individualized according to the patient's situation.
A nursing intervention is a treatment or action based on scientific concepts and knowledge from the nursing, behavioral, and physical sciences. Identifying and prioritizing nursing interventions based on the desired outcome...

Nursing Evaluation01:15

Nursing Evaluation

3.3K
The evaluation stage signals the end of the nursing process. The nurse gathers evaluative data to assess whether or not the patient has attained the expected results. Whereas the nurse collects data in the nursing assessment to identify the patient's health concerns, the evaluation stage data determines if the indicated health issues are resolved. Evaluative data collection includes two sections: the data acquired to evaluate patient outcomes and the time criteria for data collection.

Summary

A 5-minute daily mindfulness app intervention significantly reduced burnout and stress in acute care nurses. While resilience scores did not change, the app shows promise for improving nurse well-being.

Area of Science:

  • Nursing
  • Psychology
  • Digital Health

Background:

  • Healthcare professionals, particularly acute care nurses, experience high rates of burnout.
  • Burnout negatively impacts nurse well-being and patient care quality.
  • Mindfulness interventions are explored as potential strategies to mitigate burnout.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the effectiveness of a brief, daily mindfulness-based smartphone application in reducing burnout among acute care nursing staff.
  • To assess the impact of the intervention on perceived stress, mindfulness levels, and resilience in nurses.

Main Methods:

  • A pretest-posttest design with a midpoint evaluation was used.
  • 31 nursing staff from cardiovascular acute care units participated.
  • Standardized instruments measured burnout, mindfulness, stress, and resilience.

Main Results:

  • Significant reductions in perceived stress and personal burnout were observed.
  • Mindfulness scores significantly increased over the study period.
  • No statistically significant changes were found in resilience scores.

Conclusions:

  • A brief, daily mindfulness smartphone application may be a viable tool to enhance the well-being of cardiovascular nurses.
  • Mindfulness apps can be considered a component of self-care strategies for nurses.
  • Further research into digital mindfulness interventions for healthcare professionals is warranted.
