Spontaneous neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) formation is elevated in sarcopenia patients, potentially contributing to inflammation. However, NET formation response to bacterial stimuli and neutrophil phagocytosis remain intact in sarcopenia, even with liver cirrhosis.
