Journal of Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing : JOGNN
|September 1, 1985
Abstract:
The evidence supporting upright positions in childbirth and concerns about squatting are reviewed. Squatting techniques and how to adapt them to the traditional birth setting are explained, and the role of attitude on the part of childbirth educators and birth attendants in making the squatting position practically available for women in childbirth is emphasized. Recommendations are made for future research.
