[The functional capability of removable partial dentures in various classifications of reduced dentitions]

Based on the functional capability of the prosthesis, 462 removable partial dentures worn by 351 patients were grouped into five classifications (according to the topographical distribution of the remaining teeth E. Körber, K. Eichner and V. L. Steffel, and according to the number of remaining teeth per jaw). A statistical evaluation of the data showed that the Steffel classification provided the most reliable prognostic indications for the expected functional state.
