Background:

  • Nephrectomy with autotransplantation (NAT) is an established treatment for complex renovascular lesions, ureteral strictures, and renal tumors.
  • It offers a nephron-sparing approach in challenging cases.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy and outcomes of NAT.
  • To analyze indications, surgical techniques, and complications associated with NAT.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective observational study of 34 patients undergoing 38 NATs (January 2010 - September 2023).
  • Data included indications, surgical approach (laparoscopic in 89.5%), Clavien-Dindo complications, and hospital stay.
  • Statistical analysis performed using IBM SPSS Statistics.

Main Results:

  • Primary indication was complex renovascular conditions (92.1%), including 24 renal artery aneurysms.
  • No significant difference in pre- and post-operative creatinine levels (p=0.303).
