Impact of recurrent COVID-19 disease waves on acute myocardial infarction epidemics: results from a regional network

COVID-19 containment measures significantly reduced acute myocardial infarction (AMI) hospitalizations during the first wave. However, this protective effect on AMI admissions diminished during the second wave of the pandemic.
