    Summary

    This study compared Dycal and Life as direct pulp-capping agents in dogs. Both calcium hydroxide cements showed similar results in healing dental pulp after 4 and 12 weeks.

    • Two calcium hydroxide cements (Dycal and Life) were used for direct pulp capping in 40 teeth from beagle dogs.
    • Teeth were observed at 4 and 12 weeks post-procedure.

    • No significant differences were observed between the two materials at 4 and 12 weeks.

    Conclusions:
