[Value and results of glossectomy in open bite]

Partial glossectomy is an important part of the treatment of a number of forms of apertognathia, provided it is performed wisely with a rigorous technique (i.e. with sufficient resection and adapted to the lesions produced by the macroglossia). It can obtain favourable and constant results.
