Very low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (VLDL-C) and lipid discordance are linked to increased atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) risk. Assessing VLDL-C from standard lipid panels can enhance ASCVD risk prediction, especially in discordant cases.

- Incorporating VLDL-C and assessing lipid discordance may enhance the accuracy of ASCVD risk prediction.
