The association between leptin and diabetes: A meta-analysis

Leptin levels are significantly elevated in patients with diabetes, particularly gestational diabetes mellitus. However, serum leptin levels do not differ between type 2 diabetes and control groups.

- The elevation in leptin is most pronounced in gestational diabetes mellitus.
