Background:

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly integrated into interventional cardiology (IC).
AI has the potential to significantly transform the practice of IC.

Purpose of the Study:

To assess interventional cardiologists' knowledge and perceptions of AI in IC.
To understand current AI adoption and future expectations among IC professionals.

Main Methods:

A global, web-based, anonymous survey was conducted.
The survey targeted interventional cardiology fellows and attending physicians.

Main Results:

84.7% of 521 participants understood AI, with 63.7% optimistic about AI in IC.
73.5% felt physicians lacked sufficient AI knowledge, and 46.1% agreed on the need for training.
22.1% currently use AI; 60.6% expect implementation within 5 years. AI is expected to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and decrease errors.
Most utilized AI tools included ECG analysis (61.7%) and image analysis (57.3%).
Academic practice, female gender, and younger age correlated with AI adoption, concerns, and optimism, respectively.

Conclusions:

Interventional cardiologists generally hold a positive outlook on AI implementation in IC.
Addressing knowledge gaps and providing training are crucial for successful AI integration.
