Background:

  • Exergaming presents a novel approach to enhance muscle training within HIIT protocols.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate and compare upper limb muscle activation between traditional push-ups and exergaming during HIIT.
  • To evaluate the efficacy of integrating exergaming into HIIT for muscle engagement.

Main Methods:

  • Fifteen healthy males performed HIIT using either push-ups or Nintendo Switch Ring Fit Adventure exergaming.
  • Muscle activation was measured in the deltoid, pectoralis major, and latissimus dorsi.
  • Repeated measures ANOVA analyzed differences in muscle activation between exercise modes.
