    • A 10-year literature search was conducted across deHAEN Drugs in Use, Iowa Drug Information Service (IDIS), Index Medicus, MEDLINE, and International Pharmaceutical Abstracts (IPA).
    • Searches focused on bioavailability studies of oral dosage forms for acetaminophen, lithium carbonate, phenytoin, nitrofurantoin, and theophylline.

    • While no single service excelled in all aspects, a combined search of deHAEN Drugs in Use, IPA, and Index Medicus is recommended for the most comprehensive retrieval of bioavailability data with minimal citation overlap.
    • The choice of service impacts search efficiency (time) and completeness (unique citations).
    • This comparative analysis aids researchers in selecting optimal drug information services for bioavailability literature reviews.
