  • The patient had a history of follicular nodular disease.

Findings:

  • The thyroid abscess was successfully managed with endotracheal intubation, antibiotics, incision and drainage, and thyroid lobectomy.
  • Prompt diagnosis and intervention are key.

Implications:

  • Physicians must consider thyroid abscess in the differential diagnosis of acute neck swelling with compressive symptoms.
  • Early recognition and management are vital for preventing severe morbidity and mortality associated with thyroid abscess.
