[Diagnostic problems and complications of closed injuries of the duodenum]

During the period from 1963 to 1983 there were 16 patients with closed injuries of the duodenum. Diagnostic errors were made in operations on 3 patients. Eight patients recovered, eight patients died (retroperitoneal ruptures in 6 patients, intraperitoneal ruptures in 2 patients).
