The Brain's Sensitivity to Real-world Statistical Regularity Does Not Require Full Attention

The brain processes sensory information using predictions based on environmental statistical regularities. This study shows that overt attention is not necessary for the brain to detect these real-world patterns, as indicated by the N300 event-related potential component.
