Lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) levels are linked to coronary plaque progression in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and non-diabetic individuals. Higher Lp-PLA2 levels indicate increased cardiovascular risk, particularly in diabetic patients.
