Risk of Stroke in Women Using Levonorgestrel-Releasing Intrauterine Device for Contraception

Levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine devices (LG-IUDs) are linked to a reduced risk of ischemic stroke (IS) and do not increase the risk of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). This study suggests LG-IUDs may offer protective cardiovascular benefits beyond contraception.
