    Researchers explored sixteen N-substituted urethanes for anti-inflammatory effects. Two compounds, N,N'-dicarbethoxy-N,N'-dicyclohexyl-1,3-diaminopropane and cyclohexyl piperidine-1-carboxylate, demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory activity in tests.

    Background:

    • Inflammation is a complex biological response implicated in numerous diseases.
    • Developing effective anti-inflammatory agents remains a key area of pharmaceutical research.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To synthesize and evaluate a series of N-substituted urethanes as potential anti-inflammatory drugs.
    • To compare the anti-inflammatory efficacy of these compounds against a known reference drug, phenylbutazone.

    Main Methods:

    • Sixteen N-substituted urethanes were synthesized.
    • Anti-inflammatory activity was assessed using the xylene-induced hyperemia test in animal models.
    • Analgesic activity was also evaluated.
