Single-photon emission computed tomographic (SPECT) bone scintigraphy is the most sensitive method for evaluating knee osteoarthritis extent. Bone scintigraphy also shows high sensitivity for detecting torn menisci, serving as a valuable pre-arthroscopic screening tool for chronic knee pain.
