Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) increases the risk of developing allergic diseases, particularly Crohn's disease (CD), which is linked to allergic conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis, allergic asthma, and allergic rhinitis. Further research is needed to understand the bidirectional causality.
