Summary

Quantitative optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) analysis revealed significant changes in retinal capillary density after macula-off rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) surgery. However, these microvascular measures did not predict visual outcome improvements.

  • Microvascular changes detected by OCTA are significant post-RRD surgery but do not reliably predict visual recovery.
  • Further research is needed to identify reliable biomarkers for visual outcomes in RRD patients.
