    Summary

    Topical acyclovir is more effective for ocular herpes zoster than steroids. This antiviral treatment resulted in shorter treatment durations and significantly fewer recurrences in patients with this eye infection.

    Background:

    • To compare the efficacy of topical acyclovir, topical steroids, and combination therapy for HZO.
