Nursing Evaluation

The evaluation stage signals the end of the nursing process. The nurse gathers evaluative data to assess whether or not the patient has attained the expected results. Background:

Hospital falls pose a significant risk to patient safety and healthcare costs.
Effective fall prevention programs are crucial for improving patient outcomes.
The Fall TIPS (Targeting Infections and Patient Safety) program is an established intervention for fall prevention.

Purpose of the Study:

To present the theoretical model, logic model, and analysis and judgment matrix for the Fall TIPS Brazil Program.
To adapt and contextualize the Fall TIPS program for the Brazilian healthcare setting.
To establish a framework for evaluating the Fall TIPS Brazil Program's effectiveness.

Main Methods:

A qualitative, participatory research approach was employed, utilizing an evaluability study design.
Data collection involved document analysis and workshops with stakeholders.
The study encompassed problem analysis, program design/adaptation, and dissemination planning.

Main Results:

Document analysis and stakeholder workshops facilitated the identification of program objectives, expected outcomes, and target audience.
Theoretical and logic models for the Fall TIPS Brazil Program were successfully constructed.
Evaluative questions led to the identification of key indicators for program assessment.
