PSTPIP2 protects against alcoholic liver injury and invokes STAT3-mediated suppression of apoptosis

Proline serine-threonine phosphatase interacting protein 2 (PSTPIP2) protects against alcoholic liver injury (ALI) by reducing hepatocyte apoptosis. PSTPIP2 expression decreases in ALI, but boosting it via gene therapy shows therapeutic promise by regulating the STAT3 pathway.
