Valproate Use During Spermatogenesis and Risk to Offspring

Paternal use of valproate before conception was not linked to birth defects or developmental disorders in offspring. This large study found no increased risk for congenital malformations or neurodevelopmental disorders in children whose fathers used valproate.

- Robustness analyses, including dose-response and sibling comparisons, supported these findings.
