Elevated serum creatinine levels in African Americans and individuals with high muscle mass may lead to chronic kidney disease misdiagnosis. Cystatin C testing confirms kidney function, preventing misdiagnosis and ensuring accurate patient care.

- Serum cystatin C (CysC) based eGFR (eGFRcys) and combined creatinine-cystatin C eGFR (eGFRCr-Cys) offer improved accuracy and concordance with measured GFR across diverse populations.
