    Background:

    • Hairy cell leukemia is a rare B-cell malignancy.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of recombinant alpha-2-interferon in patients with hairy cell leukemia.

    • An open-label, single-arm study involving 22 patients with hairy cell leukemia.
    • Patients received recombinant alpha-2-interferon at a dose of 2 x 10(6) U/m2 three times weekly.
