Understanding student needs is crucial for developing effective educational support systems.

Purpose of the Study:

To identify the specific educational requirements of minority rural students interested in nursing.
To inform the development of a targeted mentorship program for this demographic.
To address barriers to nursing education faced by rural minority youth.

Main Methods:

Conducted focus groups with middle school students (grades 7-9) interested in nursing.
Held interviews with community members involved in education.
Qualitative data analysis to identify key themes and needs.

Main Results:

Identified significant gaps in knowledge regarding nursing educational pathways.
Highlighted community resource limitations as a major constraint.
Revealed a strong desire for informative and interactive mentorship opportunities.

Conclusions:
