[Primary closure of split thickness skin donor sites using surgical foil]
Abstract:
The advantages of using an operation foil for wound dressing when split thickness skin grafts have been taken are presented. For some years we have used an air and steam permeable plastic foil for wound dressing in cases where split thickness skin grafts have been taken. The advantages of this procedure in our opinion are: It minimizes postoperative pain. It allows inspection of the wound whenever it appears desirable because of the transparency of the foil. It reduces the cost of wound dressing and also nursing procedures.
