Altered cardiac autonomic functioning associates with self-disorders in schizophrenia

Schizophrenia patients show a link between self-disorders and autonomic nervous system dysfunction. This dysfunction, indicated by elevated resting heart rate and reduced heart rate variability, may be a vulnerability trait for schizophrenia.
