Abstract:
A disease registry is a population-based record-keeping system, the purpose of which is to help improve the quality of healthcare by collecting, analyzing, and utilizing demographic and clinical information. The establishment and operation of the Hungarian disease registries are regulated by the 49/2018. ministerial decree. The self-developed online data collection systems of the National Korányi Institute for Pulmonology, mainly the Tuberculosis Surveillance System, which has been operating since 2010, have resulted in considerable experience in developing and operating disease registries. Based on this experience, the National Cystic Fibrosis Registry was created in 2022. This study aims to present the function, operation, and results of the National Cystic Fibrosis Registry and the Tuberculosis Surveillance System established at the National Korányi Institute for Pulmonology.
