  • Searched multiple databases up to June 2023, including CENTRAL, MEDLINE, and Embase.
  • Assessed primary outcomes: symptom resolution, defecation frequency, treatment success, and adverse events using GRADE criteria.

  • Further high-quality RCTs are needed to establish effective and safe treatment options.
