  • A 29-year-old male developed hyperacute left main thrombosis post-Bentall procedure.
  • Massive left ventricular infarction necessitated extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, but the patient did not recover.

Findings:

  • Blood analysis revealed significantly elevated Factor VIII levels in the patient.
  • Elevated Factor VIII is associated with genetic factors, infections (e.g., SARS-CoV-2), and vascular inflammation.

Implications:

  • Elevated Factor VIII may be a contributing factor to hyperacute thrombosis in specific clinical contexts.
  • This finding highlights the need to investigate Factor VIII levels in patients presenting with acute aortic thrombosis post-surgery.
