  • Clinical presentation included crusting and scaling, characteristic of bullous disorders.
  • The patient exhibited positivity for anti-double-stranded deoxyribonucleic acid (anti-dSDNA) and anti-nuclear antibody (ANA).

Findings:

  • Diagnosis of pemphigus erythematosus was confirmed through clinical and laboratory investigations.
  • The patient's serology revealed specific autoantibodies associated with autoimmune conditions.
  • The underlying mechanism involves autoimmune attack on keratinocyte adhesion molecules.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the importance of recognizing overlapping features in autoimmune bullous diseases.
  • Accurate diagnosis of pemphigus erythematosus is crucial for appropriate management.
