Summary

This study reviews known Toxorhina crane fly species in Yunnan, China. A new species, Toxorhina (Ceratocheilus) pianmica, is described, expanding the known diversity of this genus.

Background

The genus Toxorhina comprises crane flies with seven species previously recorded in China.
Three Toxorhina species were known to inhabit Yunnan Province prior to this study.
